Key Responsibilities:

  • Point of Contact: Handle enquiries from students, staff, Fellows, and external agencies via email, phone, and in person.
  • Teaching Administration: Support processes related to student enrolment, record keeping, and visa checks.
  • Graduate Assistant Recruitment: Assist with the recruitment and payment administration for Graduate Teaching Assistants and Graduate Mentors.
  • Timetable Coordination: Organise Undergraduate Progress Meetings and circulate relevant reports.
  • Student Competitions and Prizes: Administer academic prizes and competitions for students.
  • Academic Support: Assist with administrative tasks for academic appointments, including right to work checks and supporting the induction process for new Fellows and Lecturers.
  • Data Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date student records and assist with the University's student data systems.
  • General Office Support: Provide administrative assistance to academic staff, including scheduling meetings, preparing correspondence, and supporting HR tasks.

Skills and Qualities:

  • Previous Academic Administration experience
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal skills for engaging with diverse stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: High levels of accuracy, numeracy, and thorough record-keeping.
  • Organised & Efficient: Ability to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • IT Proficiency: Strong computer skills with a willingness to learn new systems.
  • Team Player: Collaborative, flexible, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Discretion & Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information with professionalism and tact.
