We are seeking several reliable IT Assistants to support the relocation and setup of IT equipment across multiple sites. This short-term opportunity is ideal for individuals with practical IT experience who enjoy hands-on tasks, working collaboratively, and contributing to the success of a large-scale project.
The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full-time for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of £13.37 per hour + holiday pay
Contract Dates
- 2 roles: from Thursday 21 August (or soon after) to Friday 26 September
- 2 roles: from Monday 1 September (or soon after) to Friday 26 September
Key Responsibilities
IT Equipment Relocation
- Unplug and label all IT equipment, including computers, monitors, printers, and peripherals
- Carefully document existing setups to ensure accurate reassembly
- Assist with physically moving equipment, maintaining high standards of care to prevent damage
Hardware Setup and Configuration
- Reassemble and reconnect IT equipment in new locations following provided guidance
- Mount monitors, set up docking stations, and manage power and peripheral cables
- Power on devices, check basic settings, and install peripherals as needed
Network and Connectivity
- Connect devices to the network via Ethernet or Wi-Fi
- Plug in power cables, including access to under-floor sockets
- Verify connectivity and functionality, and escalate issues to senior IT staff
Inventory and Site Logistics
- Track and log asset tags and serial numbers
- Assist with deliveries and organise equipment and packaging
- Clean and prepare workstations for use
