We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Website Content Officer whose experience in digital content creation, editing, and accessibility will support the successful delivery of the new website. The post holder must have strong writing and organisational skills, knowledge of web content standards (including accessibility), and the ability to work collaboratively across teams, with the opportunity to shape engaging online communications and contribute to the digital presence and brand.
The position (0.8 FTE) is set to commence from mid-February and will be full-time for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of £18.80 per hour + holiday pay.

Essential
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with close attention to detail
- Extensive experience creating, editing or managing content for digital platforms
- Ability to organise and structure information clearly for different audiences, including prospective students, current members, staff and external stakeholders
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, competing priorities and project deadlines
- Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders
- Familiarity with WordPress or similar content management systems, as well as a basic understanding of HTML
- Understanding of best practices for SEO, accessibility and user-focused content to maximise reach and effectiveness
- Awareness of data protection, image rights and copyright considerations when publishing digital content
- A good eye for design and understanding of branding, as applied to digital content
Desirable
- Prior experience of working with web redevelopment or migration projects, including content audits, content mapping or working to agreed information architecture
- Experience in using insights and analytics tools (e.g. GA4) to inform and improve practice
- Practical knowledge and experience of implementing of WCAG 2.1 accessibility standards, inclusive content practices and data protection responsibilities
- Experience using Adobe products, Canva or equivalent design and image editing tools
- Experience in creating and scheduling content, including videos, across a range of social media channels
- Experience working in a communications or digital content role within higher education or a similar environment
