About the role

We are seeking an organised, proactive and confident Communications Assistant to support a large-scale, school-based student research programme. Working closely with the Project Manager and wider team, you will help coordinate the onboarding of schools participating in the 2027 survey and provide ongoing support throughout the survey cycle.

This is a varied, hands-on coordination role that involves communicating with schools and external partners, responding to enquiries, managing documentation and maintaining accurate project records. You will play an important part in ensuring participating schools receive clear information, complete the necessary onboarding steps and have the support they need to take part successfully.

This opportunity would suit someone with excellent communication and organisational skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks while building positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Project Manager and wider team to support preparations for and delivery of the 2027 survey.
  • Assist with the recruitment and confirmation of participating schools, including contacting prospective schools, providing information, following up expressions of interest and guiding schools through the onboarding process.
  • Support the administration of school agreements, contracts and Data Processing Agreements (DPAs), including preparing and issuing documents through electronic signature systems, monitoring progress and following up outstanding paperwork.
  • Provide ongoing support to participating schools throughout the survey period, responding to routine enquiries and offering clear guidance.
  • Identify and escalate more complex or urgent queries to the appropriate team members to ensure timely resolution.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of school contacts, participation status, agreements, onboarding progress, outstanding actions and communications using relevant project systems and trackers.
  • Liaise professionally with schools and external partners to help ensure a smooth and efficient survey process.
  • Provide general administrative and coordination support as required to help the project run effectively.

Essential Criteria

Candidates must demonstrate proven experience in the following areas:

  • Proven experience in a communications, administrative, coordination or customer-facing support role.
  • Proven experience communicating professionally with external stakeholders, responding to enquiries and providing clear, helpful information.
  • Proven experience maintaining accurate records, updating databases or tracking systems, and managing documentation.
  • Proven experience organising and prioritising multiple tasks, monitoring outstanding actions and following up to meet deadlines.
