About the role

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Business Change Manager to support the successful introduction of new technology across the University. The role focuses on stakeholder engagement, change planning, communications, training support, and ensuring readiness for transition to new ways of working.

The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full-time for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of £25.19 per hour + holiday pay

Key Duties:

  • Identify stakeholders affected by the new technology, understanding their interests and influence
  • Work with the Sponsor, Programme Manager, Project Manager, Communications Officer and others to deliver Business Change and Communication plans
  • Manage expectations across stakeholder groups and build support for project objectives
  • Implement and refine the Change Management Strategy, monitoring feedback and adjusting as needed
  • Identify emerging impacts or challenges and coordinate prompt action with relevant colleagues
  • Develop and deliver targeted stakeholder communication plans
  • Report progress through highlight reports and regular updates to project teams and Boards
  • Work with training and business teams to understand learning needs and propose appropriate training programmes
  • Support the development and delivery of training and in-system guidance
  • Contribute to project planning to ensure business change milestones are captured
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date change documentation
  • Support transition planning into business-as-usual and escalate resource concerns where required
  • Conduct business readiness assessments to ensure teams can adopt new processes
  • Oversee handover of business change materials, including training documentation
  • Track adoption and benefits realisation with relevant teams and provide support where progress issues arise

Selection Criteria:

  • Experience in change management within a complex, multi-stakeholder organisation
  • Understanding of technology-driven organisational change
  • Strong knowledge of how individuals and teams adapt to change
  • Flexible and adaptable, with experience supporting iterative or Agile delivery approaches
  • Ability to quickly understand complex information and communicate it clearly to diverse audiences
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build strong relationships at all levels
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for a wide range of audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a wider team
  • Self-directed, proactive, and able to prioritise, problem-solve and exercise sound judgement
