About the role


We are seeking an experienced and creative Alumni Communications & Marketing Manager to lead strategic communications and marketing activity for the alumni network. This role combines content leadership, campaign delivery, brand management, and cross-School collaboration to strengthen alumni engagement and impact.

The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full-time for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of £20.77 per hour + holiday pay

Key Duties:

  • Manage alumni email marketing, including drafting, editing, scheduling, and maintaining a communications calendar
  • Act as Editor of the bi-monthly alumni eNewsletter and oversee all alumni communications and marketing materials
  • Identify and produce compelling alumni stories through research and interviews for use across multiple channels
  • Lead sector-specific alumni content bulletins (e.g. Finance, Technology, Entrepreneurship, Consulting, Healthcare)
  • Oversee the alumni website, including content updates, performance monitoring, and redevelopment projects
  • Contribute regular alumni content to School-wide digital and social media channels
  • Lead brand management and visual identity for the alumni network; manage production of marketing collateral and merchandise
  • Project manage the annual MBA/EMBA Census and communications around major programme rankings
  • Review and deliver alumni communications strategies, including student-to-alumni transition and consent campaigns
  • Ensure compliance with GDPR, PECR and UK data protection legislation across all communications
  • Coordinate reporting and data metrics with database colleagues for senior governance groups
  • Set and manage the alumni communications budget and provide regular reports

Selection Criteria:

  • Significant experience in communications and marketing
  • Proven success delivering integrated campaigns, including copywriting and performance monitoring
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills, including public speaking
  • Experience with email marketing platforms, CRM databases, websites and social media
  • Website management experience, including redevelopment projects; basic HTML knowledge desirable
  • Strong project management, budgeting and reporting skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with a collaborative approach
  • Strong time management and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Sound knowledge of GDPR, PECR and UK data protection legislation
  • Understanding of customer service and stewardship in a higher education context
