We are seeking an experienced HR Administrator to deliver high-quality HR support across the employee lifecycle.
The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full-time for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of £16.92 per hour + holiday pay.
HR Administration & Support
- Monitor the HR inbox and act as first point of contact for staff, managers and applicants, responding to queries and escalating where appropriate
- Interpret HR policies and procedures, researching complex queries with support from the HR Team Leader
- Administer recruitment processes end-to-end, including drafting adverts and job descriptions, coordinating grading, funding checks, visa documentation, shortlisting packs and applicant correspondence
- Prepare contracts, offer letters and amendments, ensuring right-to-work, ID and Occupational Health checks are completed
- Manage casual appointments and process monthly payment claims
- Support Professional Development Reviews, Reward & Recognition and family-friendly processes
- Issue employment references and confirmations
- Ensure University cards and IT access are renewed on time
- Maintain and update HR webpages
HR Data & Compliance
- Maintain accurate personnel records in PeopleXD, ensuring GDPR compliance
- Process monthly payroll changes within deadlines
- Manage annual leave calculations and absence records in PeopleXD
- Monitor fixed-term contracts, appraisal dates and absence records, flagging actions required
- Support visa compliance and maintain accurate documentation
- Produce ad hoc HR reports using PeopleXD
- Attend training on HR systems and procedures
Selection Criteria:
- A-level education with GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
- Proven and recent experience using PeopleXD (essential)
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail
- Understanding of data protection and confidentiality requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines accurately
- High standard of customer service
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
