Finance Assistant
About the role
We are looking for a Finance Assistant to support a busy department with high-volume finance administration. The role will focus on processing supplier invoices, resolving payment queries, reconciling statements and supporting expenses administration.
Duties:
•
Processing approved supplier invoices accurately and within agreed timescales, resolving queries promptly where needed
•
Identifying invoices for the Central Payments team and ensuring these are sent across daily
•
Processing exception, blanket order and complex invoices in line with agreed service levels
•
Investigating and resolving held invoices to support timely supplier payments
•
Reconciling supplier statements on a monthly basis and resolving any outstanding issues
•
Checking and submitting authorised expense claims in line with policy on a weekly basis
Selection criteria:
•
Previous experience working in a high-volume transaction processing environment
•
Ability to produce a high volume of accurate work with strong attention to detail
•
Good communication and customer service skills
•
Strong financial and IT literacy
•
Sound understanding of accounting principles and the ability to learn internal finance policies and procedures
•
Confidence using a range of computer programmes, including spreadsheets and databases
•
Knowledge of Oracle Financials and strong spreadsheet skills
