About the role

We are seeking an organised and proactive Education Assistant to provide administrative support across undergraduate and postgraduate education activity in a busy academic department. This role will involve coordinating teaching, assessments, student events and key administrative processes, so would suit someone with strong admin experience, excellent organisational skills and confidence working with a range of systems and stakeholders.

Duties:


Support the organisation and delivery of teaching sessions, lectures and clinical tutorials, including room bookings, timetabling, set-up and liaison with staff and students.
Provide administrative support for assessments, including OSCEs, by coordinating attendees, preparing arrangements and supporting activity on the day.
Monitor and manage student coursework, submissions and results, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely data entry onto relevant systems.
Support postgraduate administration, including visa monitoring, milestone tracking, application processes and workshop coordination.
Assist with the organisation of student induction activity, seminars, interviews, talks and social events across the department.
Communicate with students, academic staff and external contacts to ensure educational activities and related processes run smoothly and to schedule.

Selection criteria:


Experience within academic admin/graduate studies.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to coordinate teaching activity, timetables, assessments and events accurately.
Excellent communication skills, with confidence liaising with students, academic staff, professional services colleagues and external contacts.
Good attention to detail, including accurate record-keeping, monitoring submissions and deadlines, and inputting results or other student data.
Good IT skills, with experience using Microsoft Office and confidence using databases, virtual learning environments and other online systems.
Ability to work independently, use initiative and provide calm, practical support during teaching activities, assessments and student-facing events.
