We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Website Graphic Designer to develop the visual identity and design of a new website. The role combines branding, graphic design, web design and content presentation, delivering an engaging and professional online presence for a policy and academic audience.
The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full-time for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of £18.80 per hour + holiday pay
Key Duties:
- Develop the overall visual identity for the website, including colour palette, typography, imagery style and design direction
- Design and build 7–10 website sections, creating engaging layouts and visual content
- Source and select appropriate imagery, including stock photography where required
- Create supporting visual assets, including icons, illustrations, diagrams and social media graphics
- Build and style the website within the Fresco platform, ensuring consistency, accessibility and usability
- Work collaboratively with stakeholders to refine designs based on feedback
- Document the visual identity, design standards and key decisions to support future maintenance
Selection Criteria:
- Strong portfolio demonstrating high-quality graphic design work, ideally within academic, policy or public-sector environments
- Experience developing visual identities, including typography, colour systems and branding guidelines
- Ability to create engaging digital content and visual assets for web platforms
- Experience designing within CMS-based environments and constrained design systems
- Knowledge of web design principles, accessibility standards and user experience best practice
- Experience with Drupal-based platforms or similar CMS systems (desirable)
- Strong written communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage deadlines effectively
