We are seeking a reliable and customer-focused Facilities Support Assistant to support the day-to-day operation of building facilities. This role combines customer service, building maintenance, event support and health and safety responsibilities to ensure a safe and welcoming environment for staff, students and visitors.
The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full-time for an initial duration of 8 weeks with a pay rate of £14.51 per hour + holiday pay
Key Duties:
- Provide a high standard of customer service to building users and visitors
- Carry out general building maintenance and facilities support tasks within agreed competencies
- Set up meeting rooms, lecture spaces and events, including furniture and AV equipment
- Undertake reception and security duties, including access control and opening/closing procedures
- Complete routine building inspections and report maintenance issues
- Receive, record and distribute deliveries, goods and post
- Assist with cleaning and maintaining internal and external building areas
- Support health and safety compliance, including manual handling and COSHH requirements
- Assist with room reconfigurations and building presentation improvements
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain high standards of service and facilities management
Selection Criteria:
- Excellent customer service skills
- Good IT skills, including email and internet use
- Willingness and ability to learn bespoke facilities management systems
- Professional presentation and ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of people
- Good time management and reliability
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
