We are recruiting for a Temporary Lodge Porter to join a centrally based Oxford University department. This is a full-time temporary position for an initial 12-week period, with an immediate start available.
Key Duties
- Acting as the first point of contact for visitors, staff, and students.
- Operating the Lodge telephone and handling enquiries.
- Issuing keys and maintaining accurate records.
- Conducting security patrols and responding to incidents.
- Managing authorised parking and handling daily post.
- Maintaining a clean and tidy site and reporting maintenance issues.
- Responding to out-of-hours callouts where required.
- Carrying out general porter duties as needed.
Candidate Requirements
- Friendly, professional, and approachable.
- Reliable, punctual, and flexible.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Able to work independently and remain calm under pressure.
- Willing to learn new systems and undertake First Aid training if required.
Previous experience in a porter, security, concierge, or customer service role would be advantageous but is not essential.
