We are seeking a commercially focused Conference Business Development Manager to drive new business and revenue growth across a portfolio of conference and event venues. This role combines proactive sales, client relationship management, digital marketing and market analysis to generate new opportunities and strengthen market presence.
The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full-time for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of £18.80 per hour + holiday pay
Key Duties:
- Generate new business through prospecting, telesales and targeted client engagement
- Represent the organisation at exhibitions, networking events and industry conferences
- Organise and host promotional events and familiarisation visits for prospective clients
- Develop and deliver targeted email marketing campaigns to generate leads
- Coordinate industry award submissions to strengthen brand profile and competitive positioning
- Use social media to identify prospects, build relationships and generate new business opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with prospective and existing clients
- Research market trends, competitors and emerging commercial opportunities
- Identify target organisations, market segments and key decision-makers
- Monitor sales performance and KPIs, using data to improve business development activity
Selection Criteria:
- Proven experience in business development, sales or a related commercial role
- Strong track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
- Experience in telesales, prospecting and remote selling
- Confidence engaging and pitching to senior decision-makers
- Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Strong commercial awareness and relationship management skills
- Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools
- Self-motivated and results-focused with ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional evenings, weekends and travel
