We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Research Assistant to join a Headington based department at the University of Oxford.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced research professional to contribute to a range of research activities, including participant recruitment, data collection, data management and analysis, research administration, and the implementation of research protocols using digital tools.
The role will be full-time and fully on-site, with an initial contract duration of 12 weeks. The successful candidate will work closely with senior colleagues and an interdisciplinary research team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage your own research and administrative activities, with guidance from senior colleagues.
- Contribute to wider project planning and organisation.
- Support the delivery and implementation of research protocols using online tools such as Qualtrics, m-Path and Jisc.
- Support participant recruitment and data collection for outdoor nature-based research projects, including active involvement in research activities.
- Develop and maintain digital filing systems in line with project requirements.
- Gather, analyse and present data from a range of sources.
- Undertake occasional work outside normal working hours where required to support project progress. Any such requirements will be discussed and agreed with the line manager in advance.
Essential Selection Criteria
Applicants must be able to demonstrate:
- An undergraduate degree in Psychology, Psychiatry or Cognitive Science, together with at least two years of relevant postgraduate experience.
- Experience conducting research studies involving human participants, including designing, selecting and evaluating study materials; selecting appropriate validated questionnaires and measures; obtaining informed consent; participant recruitment; and data collection.
- Experience in data management, including organising and checking datasets and general data processing, such as using Microsoft Excel.
- Strong quantitative data analysis skills, together with some experience of qualitative data analysis, applied within a research context.
- The ability to effectively review, evaluate and synthesise scientific and clinical literature.
- Knowledge and experience of survey software such as Qualtrics or Jisc.
