We are looking for a motivated and creative Digital Communications & Content Assistant to support the department’s digital communications, websites and online content.
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is organised, enthusiastic about digital communications and keen to develop their skills across a range of platforms and tools. You will work closely with the Digital Content Officer and wider team to ensure our digital content is engaging, accessible and up to date.
About the role
As a Digital Communications & Content Assistant, you will play an important role in maintaining and developing the department’s digital channels. Your responsibilities will include:
- Creating and maintaining staff and student profiles on the department’s website, including adding new starters and removing leavers.
- Supporting the maintenance of departmental websites and helping to ensure content meets accessibility and SEO requirements, including adding appropriate alt text to images.
- Updating and maintaining webpages as required, ensuring information is accurate, relevant and engaging.
- Supporting the Digital Content Officer with social media campaigns, including preparing digital assets and assisting with analytics and reporting.
- Updating departmental display screens with news, events and other relevant information.
- Preparing and distributing e-newsletters for staff.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the department to support wider digital communications activities.
About you
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about digital communications and has a willingness to learn and develop their technical skills.
You will have:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce clear, accurate and engaging content.
- Experience of using Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using creative and digital software, such as Adobe, Canva and video-editing software.
Experience of working with websites, social media, digital content or communications would be advantageous, but a willingness to learn and a keen interest in digital communications are equally important.
