About the role

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Website Migration and Communications Officer to support a department in migrating its existing web content to the University’s new digital platforms. This role combines technical coordination, content design, and stakeholder engagement to ensure a smooth transition to the new OxWeb, Fresco, and OxIntranet systems.

The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full-time for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of £20.77 per hour + holiday pay

Key Duties:

  • Support the department in managing the migration of web content from the Drupal 7-based Mosaic and OxWeb platforms to the new OxWeb, Fresco, and OxIntranet platforms
  • Collaborate with content owners to develop clear, accessible, and user-focused web and intranet content ready for migration
  • Assist in updating, editing, and restructuring websites to improve usability and consistency
  • Communicate and engage with site editors and contributors to coordinate migration activities and provide guidance on new processes
  • Liaise with the Transforming Oxford’s Digital Communications Programme team within the department to ensure site needs are fully met on the new platforms
  • Support the development and implementation of migration governance processes and help transition the project to business-as-usual operations

Selection Criteria:

  • Proven experience working with digital publishing platforms, ideally in a website migration, content management, or web administration role
  • Strong content creation and editing skills, with the ability to simplify and translate complex or technical information for diverse audiences
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to advise, influence, and support users at all levels
  • High attention to detail, accuracy in written communication, and confidence in advising and negotiating with stakeholders
  • Experience in content design, including information architecture, accessibility standards, and user-centred design principles
  • Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Proactive, analytical approach to problem-solving, documentation, and process improvement
