You will be highly organised, able to manage multiple projects and events, work effectively with a range of stakeholders, and approach your work with professionalism and integrity.
As Policy Impact Coordinator, you will support the Policy Impact Team in delivering effective engagement with policymakers and stakeholders. Reporting to the Policy Impact Lead, you will play a key role in helping research influence policy and practice.
Key responsibilities include:
• Monitoring policy initiatives and emerging trends to identify opportunities for research to influence policy.
• Supporting engagement with policymakers and decision-makers, including arranging meetings and taking notes.
• Maintaining and updating records of professional relationships and stakeholder networks.
• Assisting with event organisation and stakeholder mapping.
• Supporting reporting to funders and monitoring the effectiveness of policy engagement.
• Contributing to policy outputs, such as briefs and submissions to calls for evidence.
• Supporting researchers to develop tailored policy engagement plans.
• Coordinating with teams working with people with lived experience to ensure their inclusion in policy impact activities.
• Assisting the communications team to ensure policy impact communications are aligned with organisational strategy.
• Undertaking other duties as reasonably requested by the Policy Impact Lead.
Selection criteria- essential
• Strong interest in modern slavery and/or human rights, with eagerness to learn and develop professionally.
• Good written communication skills, with ability to produce clear, accessible material.
• Experience of organising events.
• Proven ability to collaborate and work effectively with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Selection criteria- desirable
• Experience in a policymaking context or with third sector organisations, particularly in relevant fields.
• Research literacy, with ability to synthesise and analyse research reports.
• Project management experience.
• Experience of monitoring and evaluation.
• Experience of working with people with lived experience of modern slavery or other human rights abuses.
