We are looking for an experienced Communications & Engagement Officer to support our operational team on a temporary basis during a period of increased activity. The Communications & Engagement Officer will be responsible for supporting multiple communications channels and creating and distributing high-quality content to promote the AI Hub’s activities and impact.
The position is set to commence asap and will be part-time (0.6 FTE) for 5 weeks (with a pay rate of £20.77 per hour + holiday pay).

The work of the temporary Communications and Engagement Officer will cover a wide range of activities and priorities during this period, including:
- Helping to oversee and develop the Hub’s digital communications channels, including the website, YouTube, and social media platforms.
- Supporting the production of a diverse range of communications materials, including newsletters, articles, blog posts, social media content, and video assets.
- Creating promotional materials and core messaging for Hub events and initiatives.
Selection Criteria:
Essential
- Extensive experience delivering communications across multiple channels and platforms.
- Expertise in website management and in producing high-impact digital content, including web copy, newsletters, and social media posts.
- Exceptional written communication skills and attention to detail, and a proven ability to translate complex subject matter into clear, engaging content for non-specialist audiences.
- Excellent organisational skills to effectively manage time and workload with an outcome focused approach.
Desirable
- Proficiency with WordPress and Mailchimp, and experience using Clipchamp or comparable video editing tools to produce high-quality digital content.
- Experience designing promotional materials, including use of platforms such as Canva.
- Knowledge of, or interest in, artificial intelligence and/or mathematics
