About the role

Are you a strong writer with an eye for detail and an interest in digital content? We are seeking a Development and Alumni Communications Officer to support an exciting short-term project to enhance alumni engagement and fundraising content across the Faculty website.

Following a recent website audit, a new Alumni and Supporters subsite has been launched. This role will play a key part in completing the next phase—refreshing content, developing new pages, and ensuring alumni stories and engagement opportunities are clearly and effectively showcased.

About the role

Working closely with the Communications and Development & Alumni Engagement teams, you will help implement website improvements, update existing content, and create new pages that highlight alumni impact and opportunities to engage with the Faculty.

This is a hands-on content role, ideal for someone who enjoys writing, editing, and structuring content for web audiences.

Key responsibilities

  • Implement priority recommendations from the website review
  • Update and improve alumni-related website content
  • Create and enhance webpages showcasing alumni stories and engagement opportunities
  • Gather, draft, and edit content in collaboration with internal stakeholders
  • Ensure consistency and clarity of alumni engagement messaging across the website
  • Support promotion of engagement and fundraising opportunities through web content
  • Follow existing processes and contribute to the development of new standard operating procedures (SOPs)

Key projects

During the contract, you will:

  • Refresh the Alumni Today page, including sourcing and producing new alumni stories
  • Develop a new Impact Stories page highlighting scholarship recipients and donor impact
  • Review and update the Alumni Networks and Communities content
  • Support the creation of new pages, including Legacy Giving and Volunteering opportunities
  • Improve consistency of alumni engagement messaging across the Faculty website

Deliverables

  • Updated alumni content pages with refreshed and relevant material
  • New Impact Stories page featuring current profiles
  • Updated and verified alumni network information
  • Draft or completed new engagement webpages
  • Reusable alumni stories for wider communications
  • Summary report of updates and recommendations

Essential Criteria

You will need to have

  • Experience writing or editing website content
  • Excellent communication and editorial skills 
  • Attention to detail and ability to present content clearly for web audiences
  • Familiarity with CMS platforms
