We are currently recruiting for a Temporary Project Manager to join a centrally based University of Oxford department. This role is available to start as soon as possible, offered on a full-time or part-time basis (minimum 22.5 hours per week) for an initial 12-week period.
This is an excellent opportunity to support high-profile, complex research projects within a fast-paced academic environment.
The Role
You will work closely with Principal Investigators to support the delivery of large research grants, ensuring financial, contractual, and operational requirements are met. A key focus will be supporting the NetDRIVE project, including tracking deliverables, managing risk registers, monitoring budgets, and preparing reports for funders and governance boards.
You will oversee day-to-day financial management, forecasting, and compliance, while acting as a key point of contact for project staff. The role also involves coordinating meetings, preparing documentation, supporting recruitment activity, maintaining project records, and contributing to reporting and audits.
About You
You will have strong analytical and numerical skills, with experience in financial and/or project management within a research-intensive environment. A science degree or the ability to engage confidently with complex research material is essential.
You will be highly organised, able to manage competing priorities, and confident communicating with a wide range of stakeholders. Strong IT skills (including Excel and financial systems such as Oracle) are required, alongside excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Please be aware that all candidates need to be able to start work immediately and must be able to work on site if required to do so.
