We are seeking a highly organised Archivist to support a short-term project to preserve and organise historical materials. The role focuses on creating accessible records, safeguarding institutional memory, and supporting future engagement and communications initiatives.
The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full-time until 31st July 2026 weeks with a pay rate of £16.92 per hour + holiday pay
Key Duties:
- Identify, collect and organise historical materials including documents, photographs and records
- Catalogue and structure archival content to ensure easy access and long-term usability
- Support preservation of key milestones and institutional history
- Develop systems for managing physical and digital archives
- Assist in making archival materials accessible for communication and engagement purposes
- Liaise with staff to locate and gather relevant historical content
Selection Criteria:
- Strong IT skills, particularly in Excel for database creation
- Experience in archival, library or records management (desirable)
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage a project at pace
- Physically able to handle and move archive materials
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage a range of stakeholders
