We are seeking an analytical and detail-oriented Research and Data Officer to support fundraising and alumni engagement activities through high-quality research, prospect identification, data management and reporting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with information, building insights and supporting strategic decision-making.
The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full-time for an initial duration of 8 weeks with a pay rate of £18.80 per hour + holiday pay
Key Duties:
- Research and prepare profiles and briefings on alumni, prospective donors, companies, trusts and foundations
- Identify and assess potential donors in line with fundraising priorities and development strategies
- Monitor and manage prospect pipelines to support fundraising activity and targets
- Maintain and update prospect and relationship data within the fundraising database
- Run database queries and produce reports to support fundraising strategy and decision-making
- Clean, enrich and maintain data records to ensure accuracy and usability
- Manage prospecting reports and provide regular updates on fundraising activity and performance
- Respond to information requests and support research enquiries from colleagues
- Ensure compliance with data protection legislation and organisational policies
Selection Criteria:
- Degree-level education or equivalent professional experience
- Experience in prospect research, fundraising research, or a research/information-focused role
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to gather and interpret information from multiple sources
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience producing accurate reports and briefing documents
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage competing deadlines
- Good understanding of databases and data management principles
- Numeracy skills and ability to understand financial information
- Strong attention to detail, discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive information
- Collaborative approach with the ability to build effective working relationships
