About the role

We are seeking an organised and creative Events & Communications Officer to coordinate events and deliver engaging communications across a range of channels. The role combines event management, content creation, media relations and stakeholder engagement within a busy environment.

The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full-time for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of £18.80 per hour + holiday pay

Key Duties:

  • Plan and coordinate events and meetings, including venues, catering, invitations, registrations and speaker liaison
  • Manage event logistics, including room set-up, signage, AV and coordination with suppliers and support staff
  • Maintain an organisation-wide events calendar, helping to avoid clashes and ensure effective promotion
  • Coordinate post-event activities, including recordings, feedback, financial reporting and evaluation
  • Support event promotion through newsletters, social media, news content and other communications channels
  • Create, edit and proofread communications including newsletters, web content, social media posts and press releases
  • Coordinate media relations, liaising with journalists, partners and external press teams
  • Monitor communications and media performance and produce relevant metrics and reports
  • Ensure communications and events consistently follow brand and house-style guidelines

Selection Criteria:

  • Relevant experience in an events and/or communications role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail
  • Experience planning and delivering events and communications activity
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills
  • Experience managing suppliers and budgets
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly to non-specialist audiences
  • Ability to work independently, use initiative and manage competing deadlines
  • Strong organisational and project coordination skills
