We are seeking an organised and proactive HR Assistant to provide comprehensive administrative support across the employee lifecycle. The role combines HR records management, recruitment, onboarding, compliance and employee support within a busy professional environment.
The position is set to commence ASAP and will be part-time 3-4 days per week for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of £16.92 per hour + holiday pay
Key Duties:
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records using HR systems such as Sage HR
- Manage records and documentation for permanent, temporary and casual staff
- Support recruitment processes, including advertising, applications, references and interview coordination
- Prepare contracts, appointment letters and other employment documentation
- Coordinate new starter onboarding, induction and mandatory training requirements
- Conduct right-to-work checks and monitor visa and immigration documentation
- Manage employment references and end-of-contract administration
- Respond to general HR enquiries and provide guidance on established policies and procedures
- Support administration of parental leave, sickness absence, sabbaticals and other employee processes
- Assist with workplace adjustment documentation and other HR activities as required
Selection Criteria:
- Previous experience in HR administration
- Experience within a university, college or similar environment desirable
- Experience using HR information systems (HRIS)
- Good understanding of HR administration and employee lifecycle processes
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills with ability to manage multiple priorities
- Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with tact, discretion and sound judgement
- Proactive approach with ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
