We are seeking an organised and proactive Administrative Assistant to support academic administration, admissions and on-course student services. This varied role involves student records, teaching administration, financial support and admissions coordination within a busy academic environment.
The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full-time for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of £15.38 - £18.41 per hour according to experience + holiday pay
Key Duties:
- Provide administrative support to senior academic administration staff and the wider team
- Coordinate academic progress meetings, timetables and associated documentation
- Maintain teaching and student databases, process teaching payments and produce routine reports
- Support visa monitoring and maintain accurate student records
- Assist with student administration, including residence applications, prizes and financial support schemes
- Prepare student communications, newsletters, lists and standard correspondence
- Support undergraduate and graduate admissions processes, including applicant communications and interview arrangements
- Coordinate remote interviews, timetables, candidate materials and online meeting tools
- Maintain accurate admissions records using databases and Excel spreadsheets
- Support recruitment and payment administration for temporary admissions staff
Selection Criteria:
- Strong administrative and organisational skills with experience managing processes and records
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of numeracy, accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines
- Confident and professional when dealing with students, academics and external stakeholders
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with tact and discretion
- Ability to understand and follow relevant policies, procedures and compliance requirements
- Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to learn new systems and complex processes quickly
- Ability to work independently, use sound judgement and contribute effectively within a team
