About the role

We are seeking an organised and numerically confident Pensions Assistant to provide financial and administrative support across pension processes. The role involves processing contributions, reconciliations, payments and pension records while ensuring a high level of accuracy and compliance. This role will start from 2nd November.

The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full-time for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of £14.98 per hour + holiday pay. Wednesdays working in the office with the rest of the week working from home. More office days may be required first 2-3 weeks.

Key Duties: 

  • Respond to routine pension enquiries and provide guidance on established procedures and policies
  • Process monthly pension contributions across multiple pension schemes
  • Prepare invoices and process bank payments
  • Process invoices and journals using Oracle Financials
  • Complete bank and pension contribution reconciliations, investigating discrepancies where required
  • Maintain accurate pension databases and employee records
  • Support monthly employer contribution processes and upload pension data to relevant systems
  • Process pension-related HR updates, including sickness, unpaid leave and maternity changes
  • Support new starter pension communications and administration
  • Provide general administrative support, including processing and distributing correspondence
  • Maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure financial transactions comply with relevant policies and regulations
  • Selection Criteria: 
  • Previous experience in financial or pensions administration
  • Strong numerical skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience using financial or pension systems desirable
  • Ability to process high volumes of information accurately
  • Strong organisational skills with ability to manage workload and meet deadlines
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to identify discrepancies and escalate complex issues appropriately
  • Ability to work independently and provide effective team support
